Vespasian is an uncial typeface based on lettering from a late 7th century manuscript. For those who understand these things, George Bainユs Celtic Art - the Methods of Construction gives the source as メCotton M.S. Vespasian A.I.モ. Bain is also responsible for the forms of the letters K, W and Y.
The typeface only includes the upper-case letters, but typing an accented character, or a lower-case one, will bring up the appropriate upper-case letter. There are no numbers - Roman numerals would be more appropriate anyway! I plan to develop this typeface and add more characters. For now, it is most useful for short, dramatic titles.
I have supplied both PostScript and TrueType versions for the Macintosh. I donユt mind people converting it to use on other platforms for their own personal use, but please do not distribute such versions.
I donユt demand a shareware fee for this font ム just mail me or send me a postcard so I can see where itユs got to.
